Grant Services

Write a grant that tells your story and watch your funder relationships flourish.

Grant Writing Pillars

Prospect Research

We create a customized prospect pipeline based on the local philanthropic landscape, recent funding trends, and the unique aspects of your mission to help you identify the right funders.

Content Creation

We learn your story, program, and impact to craft grant-friendly language, tailored to your mission. After your content is created and submissions begin, we make sure your materials continually present an up-to-date picture of who you are and how you’re making a difference.

Grant Fulfillment

Put your best foot forward with our fulfillment process. Two team members review materials and triple-check requirements before each submission. We then print, assemble, and mail your hard copy materials and submit your online request.

Strategic Consulting

Your relationships with grant funders needs to be cultivated like individual donors. We’re here for you with follow up and outreach strategy, site visit preparation, board trainings, and more.

Is your nonprofit ready to seek grant funding?

Let’s go over a few basics and find out!

Yes: Congratulations! Now check the date on your letter. The majority of foundations prefer to wait three years from the date of your letter to begin funding your organization. If you have not reached your three-year anniversary, we would encourage you to begin building relationships with foundations and use your first three years to build a strong individual development plan.

No: If you have not received your IRS Determination letter, then you are not ready to start grant writing under your own nonprofit status. However, you could potentially take advantage of a fiscal sponsor to get started.

Yes: You’re right on track!

No: While audited financial statements are not required for every funder, proof of fiscal responsibility is necessary. The short IRS 990 form and e-Postcard 990-N do not provide enough financial details for most funders.

Yes: You’re ready for the next step!

No: A comprehensive budget is important for understanding what resources are necessary to implement your program and, therefore, gain your intended results. If you are not sure how to develop a budget for successful grant writing, we can help!

Yes: This is great. Having a fully operational program makes raising money much easier!

No: It is easier to raise money for a program that is already producing outputs and outcomes than one that “might” produce outcomes. If you are a new nonprofit or if you have a great idea for a program, start offering your services on a part-time basis or run a small pilot program.

What makes your nonprofit unique? Why should you receive funding over another group? Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of your community’s response to local needs can help your organization fill the missing gaps in services. Identifying and responding to these gaps can strengthen your request for funding.
